I thought I’d try running my blog on Substack, as it seems to be where all the cool writer and reader peeps hang out. I truly hope you’ll continue to hang with me while I try to grow a little more of an audience. For now, I’m calling it:

Next week, I’ll be starting a new series on Substack: A Grand Façade: A Musical Memoir. This multi-part work chronicles a dramatic period in my life during my—and I use the term very loosely—“musical career.”

One score and several years ago, my wife and I sold our home, most everything we owned, and moved into a hundred-year-old farmhouse with our bandmate to pursue a musical dream. The adventure would lead us to Milwaukee and a very unique and humbling experience.

I’ve been told many times that I should write about that period of time. My band history had already inspired my second novel, Turntable, but I merely sprinkled a dash of truth upon an entrée of fiction. What I’ll be posting here over the coming months will be the raw, unadulterated (sometimes painful) truth.

I hope you’ll stick around for this very personal story about risking it all for a dream that was never realized.
