'Tis the Season

October truly begins my favorite time of year. Autumnal shades, the cooling breeze, umber dusks, and the musky smell of seasonal change.

To welcome this season of change and the coming of Halloween, I wanted to share a short passage from my third book, Fortune Falls. The main character, Jason Lahey, and his wife, Jen, take their seven-year-old son, Nicholas, out for trick-or-treating. Jason revels in the magic of the evening, oblivious of what threatens his and his family's future.
